Folio large paper edition of a line-for-line reprint of the rare and authoritative Giunta Decamerone (Impresso in Firenze: Per li heredi di Philippo di Giunta, [24 Apr., 1527]) by the Italian poet Paolo Rolli during his sojourn in London. The reprint was issued in a small quarto format, like the original; however, the printer also issued a few copies in folio on large paper

Includes 2 engraved frontispiece plates: a large medallion portrait of Giovanni Boccaccio engraved by Bernard Baron; and an allegorical classical scene by Guiseppe Grisoni, engraved by Bernard Baron
First publication of the Italian text in England
Wood-engraved Giunta lily device on first and secondary title pages, and at end of text on verso of leaf 284; Edlin's device on verso of secondary title page, preceding leaf 1
"Vita di messer Giovanni Boccaccio poeta fiorentino scritta da Filippo di Matteo Villani:" leaves [3]-[4]
The same setting of type was also imposed upon a quarto format
The first part foliated but printed on both sides of the leaf
Dedicatory preface addressed to Antonio Romualdo by Paolo Rolli: leaf ii
